Senior Oracle Developer with Business Objects:
As
a leading global investment banking and securities firm, our customer offers
product innovation, top-quality research, advice and execution through the
following Business Areas: Corporate Finance, Fixed Income, Equities,
Interest Rates and Foreign Exchange
Aufgabe:
The
department provides
solutions to manage the company employee stock and option plans. It is a
complex in-house system that supports many different plans across the 50+
countries in which the company operates. Because of this, considerable
in-house business and technical knowledge is required to support and
enhance the applications. The applications are written in SQL, Java and
Web programming languages, underpinned by an Oracle database.
This role requires excellent technical skills in an Oracle environment.
Furthermore, this role challenges the candidate to develop highly
specialised business knowledge in the area of stock and option plan
management, asset management and financial accounting/auditing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing / maintaining
applications within the team. Whilst the main focus is expected to be
design and development of database-related systems, tasks could also
comprise migration support and/or testing support for the users.
Individuals must be self-starting, possess excellent verbal and written
communication skills and be customer service oriented. The individual will
be highly committed, reliable, responsive, tactful and patient. The
ability to manage dynamic situations and changing priorities while
maintaining a structured design/development approach is essential.
Anforderungen:
- Higher
degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related
field
- At
least 5 years professional experience in software engineering
- PL/SQL
/ Oracle certifications a plus
- Experience
in the financial industry and/or financial exchanges is beneficial
- Oracle
development, administration and performance tuning
- Data
warehouse architectures and ETL tools (preferably Informatica)
- Strong
design skills using ER-modelling and UML
- Business
Objects
- Skilled
in the use of Unix tools
- Experience
in a Unix-centric software development environment
- Experience
in developing and maintaining large-scale data processing applications
- Experience
of the following products is desirable: Rational Clearcase, Erwin,
Oracle Designer
- Experience
of database interface implementation for Java/J2EE applications is
desirable
- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills in English; German skills
would be beneficial
